چکیده

In the Line Cover problem a set of n points is given and the task is to cover the points using either the minimum number of lines or at most k lines. In Curve Cover, a generalization of Line Cover, the task is to cover the points using curves with d degrees of freedom. Another generalization is the Hyperplane Cover problem where points in d-dimensional space are to be covered by hyperplanes. All these problems have kernels of polynomial size, where the parameter is the minimum number of lines, curves, or hyperplanes needed. First we give a non-parameterized algorithm for both problems in O∗(2n) (where the O∗(·) notation hides polynomial factors of n) time and polynomial space, beating a previous exponentialspace result. Combining this with incidence bounds similar to the famous Szemerédi-Trotter bound, we present a Curve Cover algorithm with running time O∗ ( (Ck/ log k)(d−1)k ) , where C is some constant. Our result improves the previous best times O∗ ( (k/1.35) ) for Line Cover (where d = 2), O∗ ( k ) for general Curve Cover, as well as a few other bounds for covering points by parabolas or conics. We also present an algorithm for Hyperplane Cover in R3 with running time O∗ ( (Ck2/ log1/5k)k ) , improving on the previous time of O∗ ( (k2/1.3)k ) . 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.2.2 Nonnumerical Algorithms and Problems

The present study evaluates two problems of single allocation hub-covering problem with star structure including two problems of maximal p-hub covering and hub covering by considering the flow transfer costs. The star structure is as there is a central hub with definite location and other hubs are connected directly to the central hub. In the first problem, the goal is selection of p-hub locati...

Presenting a three-objective model in location-allocation problems using combinational interval full-ranking and maximal covering with backup model

Covering models have found many applications in a wide variety of real-world problems; nevertheless, some assumptions of covering models are not realistic enough. Accordingly, a general approach would not be able to answer the needs of encountering varied aspects of real-world considerations. Assumptions like the unavailability of servers, uncertainty, and evaluating more factors at the same ti...

Determining the Optimal Value Bounds of the Objective Function in Interval Quadratic Programming Problem with Unrestricted Variables in Sign

In the most real-world applications, the parameters of the problem are not well understood. This is caused the problem data to be uncertain and indicated with intervals. Interval mathematical models include interval linear programming and interval nonlinear programming problems.A model of interval nonlinear programming problems for decision making based on uncertainty is interval quadratic prog...

Multigranulation single valued neutrosophic covering-based rough sets and their applications to multi-criteria group decision making

In this paper, three types of (philosophical, optimistic and pessimistic) multigranulation single valued neutrosophic (SVN) covering-based rough set models are presented, and these three models are applied to the problem of multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM).Firstly, a type of SVN covering-based rough set model is proposed.Based on this rough set model, three types of mult...

On Integral Operator and Argument Estimation of a Novel Subclass of Harmonic Univalent Functions

Abstract. In this paper we define and verify a subclass of harmonic univalent functions involving the argument of complex-value functions of the form f = h + ¯g and investigate some properties of this subclass e.g. necessary and sufficient coefficient bounds, extreme points, distortion bounds and Hadamard product.Abstract. In this paper we define and verify a subclass of harmonic univalent func...
